My second viewing at @ShrewsburyFS was Woody Allen’s critically acclaimed Midnight in Paris. Whilst I loved seeing Fitzgerald, Hemingway and even Eliot on the screen, I’m certain not everyone would share my appreciation.
Surprisingly, Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted turned out to be one of the best animations of 2012.
Once again, a highly anticipated film falls short of my super unreaslitically high expectations. I wanted to completely adore ParaNorman. With wonderful animation and fantastic characters, it has the potential of a brilliant film. It’s still a worthy addition to 2012’s Hallowe’en fare despite my mild disappointment.
The latest comic book adaptation to hit cinemas is Pete Travis’ Dredd 3D. Not even Bill Weasley stands a chance of the limelight with Karl Urban, an actor so talented his snarl has more screen presence than most contemporary actors entire faces, blowing everyone out of the water as Judge.
A more light hearted look at an impending apocalypse, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World is an endearing romantic comedy with an incredibly cute dog. Win win.
